SHREK, Jr. UpdateS:
A Letter from Mrs. Ammerman...
Dear Cast, Crew, and Parents,
An update on our show:
At the start of the school year, I was optimistic that we would be able to re-vamp and perform Shrek sometime in the Spring to allow for all of you to have your moment in the spotlight. Unfortunately, with the way things are going (rising positive Covid numbers, continued restrictions on performing groups and indoor gatherings, etc.) it has been decided that Shrek the Musical, Jr. will not take place this year. The administration and I agree that it would not be in anyone's best interest to keep our hopes up, just to be disappointed in another few months. As much as it breaks my heart, I feel that this is the right decision to protect your health and well-being, as well as mine.
Over the next few weeks, I will be working on organizing, packing, and storing all of the props, costumes and set pieces from the show. The plan is to save and store as much as we can, so that we can bring Shrek back in a few years. As I come across personal items, I will let you know through the Remind app so that we can return all items to their owners. Please be patient, as this process will take some time.
Also, I know that some of you have asked about refunds for tickets and Happy Ad sales. If you absolutely need a refund, we will figure out a way to get it to you. If, on the other hand, you would be willing to consider that money a donation to the BPS Drama Department, I would be happy to issue you a receipt for tax purposes.
A request:
Cast, if you have not already returned your Shrek book, please do so before the Thanksgiving break. Those materials belong to the school, and need to be returned so that they can be stored away for future use. If you are not currently attending Bridgman Schools face to face, you will need to make arrangements to drop your book off in the Bridgman High School office.
I know this is disappointing news. I am here if you have any questions, or just need to talk. I hope that you are all well. I miss you all!
"Sing"cerely,
Mrs. Jennifer Ammerman
